On IE 9 and Google Chrome, I've noted that the top right corner in the header has been randomly flashing. Sometimes the flashing/blinking is random and fast, other times it is slow. It is occuring on both a 1600 X 1200 LED and a 1920 x 1080 LED monitor. The area of the screen affected appears to be about 1" wide by 1" long. Periodically, a similar 1" x 1" square will blink below the intial one in the right corner, making it two squares tall in the right corner. This can occur both in the header and outside the header, but always on the right side.

System is an x64, Core 2 Quad Q6700 running on an Intel DG43GT Board with 8 GB RAM (max), with a Nvidia Geforce GTS 450, and the OS is Windows 7 Ultimate. The WEI is 7.2

Cannot remember this happening before converting over to the x64 version of Win 7 Ultimate. Have tried uninstalling both IE9 and Chrome, uninstall IE9 and replace with IE8. Am running MBAM, MSE and Defender.

Has anyone had similar issues that can help me figure out what's going on? Thank you in advance. Apologies if I did not peel enough layers away to find the answer in this forum!

Am running MBAM, MSE and Defender.

You can safely disable Windows Defender as MSE is the current protection software offered by Microsoft to Windows users. Type services.msc - Enter on Start button, search programs and files box. Look for windows defender and double click - disable then apply. Does it happen only on browsers and not on desktop or other programs, as you posted?

Thank you. Will kill the Defender.

Additional details: the blinking seems to be confined to the IBM ThinkVision monitor, which I picked up on the return aisle of a chain computer store. Perhaps it's time to try to find the actual drivers for the monitor and not just run it on the generic Win driver!

It is a LCD Monitor, Type 9320-HB1 or L201p, IBM ThinkVision 20". Any suggestions for driver locations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Any suggestions for driver locations would be greatly appreciated.

The monitor usually is shifted with a CD driver. Thankfully, Lenovo has an online manual available and a driver support. Good Luck!
