I have had this problem a lot lately. In fact, 8 times.

My computer has crashed 8 times with the same message, "WORKER_THREAD_RETURNED_AT_BAD_IRQL".
I looked in device manager, There was a yellow warning icon next to one of the VMWare drivers. I disabled it. I restarted the computer, And it worked for quite a while. Then it randomly crashed with the same message. So I uninstalled it, Then right after the computer got done starting up, It crashed with the same message, Again.

Here are some crash reports:

[10/8/12]

WORKER_THREAD_RETURNED_AT_BAD_IRQL

BUG CHECK CODE: 0x000000e1
PARAMETER 1: fffff800`035d5610
CAUSED BY DRIVER: ntoskrnl.exe
CAUSED BY ADDRESS: ntoskrnl.exe+7f1c
PROCESSOR: X64
CRASH ADDRESS: ntoskrnl.exe+7f1c0
PROCESSOR COUNT: 6

These do change sometimes, too, Like this one:

[10/2/12]

WORKER_THREAD_RETURNED_AT_BAD_IRQL

BUG CHECK CODE: 0x000000e1
PARAMETER 1: fffff800`03579610
CAUSED BY DRIVER: Ntfs.sys
CAUSED BY ADDRESS: Ntfs.sys+fe44
PROCESSOR: X64
CRASH ADDRESS: ntoskrnl.exe+7f1c0
PROCESSOR COUNT: 6

I know It's not a core windows driver, Because the computer does not crash in Safe Mode. That is how I am posting this.

I first encountered this crash after resuming the computer from Sleep Mode. The computer immediately crashed with this message on October 2nd, 2012.

If anyone has a solution or needs any other logs, Please tell me right away!

Thanks.

I'd follow the steps suggested at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff560322(v=vs.85).aspx .
Edit: Link bad.

@ Louis: The link you posted does not work for me, but this one does ...

==========================

Please zip up the last 4 minidumps and attach to your reply so I can have a closer look. There's a chance I might get some more useful info from them.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump <<< folder
  • Click on the most recent minidump file.
  • Hold down the <Ctrl> key, and click on the 3 next-most recent minidump files to also select them.
  • Release the <Ctrl> key.
  • Now, right-click on one of the selected files > Send to ... > Compressed (zipped) Folder.
The zip file will be located in the same place (the Minidump folder).
  • Attach the zip file to your next reply.
When you click on Add Reply, you will see the facility to attach a file just below the box where you type your message.
