first thing I do with blue screen error is check the computers ram for errors and I use memtest86boot cd to do so I let the scan run for at least 4 hrs .you will need to go to free download section and click on version 4.0 to download the windows ISO for creating a boot disk on this site.

What USB-connection devices are currently attached to your system?

Can you boot into safe mode without the error appearing?

I'd try booting into safe mode...uninstalling the keyboard driver, then rebooting and allowing Windows to reinstall same.

If no joy from that, do the same thing with the mouse driver.

Start/Run...type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter...to gain access to Device Manager and drivers.

While in safemode, see if you can retrieve the dump file that pertains to this BSOD initialized by the kernel. I can take a look through and see possibly what's going on here. If not, you should have small memory dumps enabled. The full one will work, although it'll take much longer to upload someplace, and it's a lot larger than the small memory dump will be.

Yes, I want the actual dump (.dmp) file. Not pictures of the BSOD, or text that you've got from Bluescrenviewer...

I've tried uploading them, but the bleepingcomputers site says: "not able to upload this kind of file". Hmm how can I send them to you then??

Hi,

( 1.) What is the make and model number of your computer?

I've tried uploading them, but the bleepingcomputers site says: "not able to upload this kind of file". Hmm how can I send them to you then??

The ".dmp" files have to be zipped (compressed).

( 2.) Please navigate to the the Windows Minidump folder.
  • C:\Windows\Minidump <== this folder .
  • Note that the first 6 digits of each minidump file indicate the date ( 100712-10935-01.dmp).
  • Highlight the 10 most recent minidump files, right mouse click and select Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • A Compressed (zipped) folder will appear in the Windows\Minidump folder.
Now, attach the Compressed (zipped) folder to your next post.
  • Note: The Bleeping Computer Forum has a 512K upload limit on file size.
    Posted Image
  • Please attach the Compressed (zipped) folder to your next post by browsing to the Windows\Minidump folder.

( 3.) A few of your bug checks show this:
Bug Check Code : 0x00000019
Crash Address : ntkrnlpa.exe+12068c
Stack Address 1 : aswSP.SYS+13fd2
Stack Address 2 : aswSP.SYS+f3ed
Stack Address 3 : aswSP.SYS+3bd1c

aswSP.SYS is part of Avast Anti-virus. I recommend that you uninstall Avast via Control Panel (View by: Large Icons), Programs and Features then, please download and run uninstallation utility aswClear.

Install Microsoft Security Essentials in the mean time.

( 4.) To help us get a better look at your computer's hardware, please download and install Speccy by Piriform. (mirror site)
  • During installation, uncheck "Install the free Google Toolbar along with Speccy."
  • Run Speccy and from the top menu, select File --> Publish Snapshot. Click "Yes" to proceed.
  • Click, Copy to Clipboard and paste this address into your next post.
Below is ONLY for those who can not get online:
  • Select File --> Save as Text File and save the file to your Desktop.
  • Please copy the text file into your next post.
  • Important Note: You will need to edit the text file to make sure that your Windows Key is not present under Operating System.

Regards,
Brooks

Hi,

I would leave Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) installed for the time being. I use MSE and the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-malware as a periodic on-demand scanner.

I can't find anything meaningful in your minidump files. Maybe others will.

Operating System
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit SP1
Computer type: Desktop
Installation Date: 23 April 2012, 22:17

What operating system did you update from in April 2012? Your hardware looks older (BIOS 2005).

Since 70% of BSOD are driver related, you should check the HP website for updated Windows 7 drivers especially chipset drivers. Compaq is now part of Hewlitt Packard.

Regards,
Brooks
