My friend has a Pandigital Personal Photo Scanner/Converter. She tells me it doesn't work so she's hoping I can help her get it going when we get together next week.
I looked up the model hoping to find the maual for it but I can't find one.
Here is the link for her model http://www.pandigital.net/search.asp?Mode=Product&TypeID=9&ProductID=27
Although there aren't any instructions on how to use it, it appears to me it should be as simple as just scanning her documents (in our case it's for genealogy purposes)
Then using the proper SD card to transfer to her computer: She has a 2 year old Dell laptop Win 7 - that's all she knows about her computer

I'd appreciate any advive on running that unit in case I'm oversymplifying how it should run
Also instead of using it w/o a computer, is it possible to just scan items into her pc directly?

As to whether the device can be used to scan directly to a PC...that would require appropriate driver and software. If such is not included with product, I'd have to guess that this is primarily a copier. See What's In The Box at http://pandigital.net/userfiles/file/Downloads/UG-E_PANSCN01_v1_5_10-13-08.pdf .

If either a graphics editor or video editor is installed on the system...and the device can be used to scan directly to hard drive storage...it should be reflected as a capture-device option by such editors.
