Hello,

Things were working fine and than all of the sudden I could not move my cursor arrow more than six inches right to left on my monitor. It will go up and down but will not go across the screen right to left.

I unplugged it, plugged it back in making sure the connection was tight and tried again. No luck. I cleaned the ball and restarted a couple of times, still no luck.

I tried a remote mouse that I use with my lap top and it works fine.

Any ideas ? It could be old age I suppose.

Before I buy a new one I thought I would check here for your thoughts.

Thanks,

Dennis :)

For some reason the edit feature does not work for me on this site.

It did not work the last time I posted a question. I don't know what is happening with that.

Anyway, I wanted to add my computer information to the above post.

Dennis -
You said you cleaned the ball, did you clean the rollers the ball rests on ?

Failing that, it's time for a new one. Anyway, optical mice don't pick up muck the way ball and roller ones did.

I am going to be away until about the 22nd October. Time on-line will be reduced and my internet access may be limited. PMs may not be replied to as quickly as normal !

Thanks for the reply Chris !

No, I did not open the back up and clean the rollers.

I will give it a try.

Thank you for the information.
