Hello, after reading around in here I decided to download Avast as Malware isn't catching any virus's however, I am redirected to google with this 404. Thatís an error.
The requested URL /redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3000-2239_4-10320142&ontId=2239_4&spi=ba4b89663e4eec697546b5867bd253ba&lop=link&tag=tdw_dltext&ltype=dl_dlnow&pid=12719277&mfgId=10044820&merId=10044820&pguid=UGyKNQoOYJIAAA1h6tUAAAGJ&destUrl=http://download.cnet.com/3001-2239_4-10320142.html?spi=ba4b89663e4eec697546b5867bd253ba%26idl=n was not found on this server. Thatís all we know.
This happen's when trying to download from Avast as well. I discovered in my internet options that the "default" home page is this http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TYPE=3&tp=iehome&locale=en_US&c=94&bd=bestbuy&pf=cnnb This is also on my other laptop that I hardly use but had to fire it up the other day only to discover that I can not get on the internet at all with it. I was able to put Malware on it with the use of a cd. Malware isn't catching anything on either laptop. I can get to places on my regular laptop but, can not download any new anti virus programs. Does any of this can make sence? I'm pretty sure I have been infected and could use some help. I don't know how I can post anything from the other laptop because I can not get on the internet. Maybe I can put the info. on a thumb drive/disk and copy and paste it from the laptop I am using now (also infected but working).
Thank you

Hello, let's do one machine at a time.
Did you use a flash drive between these machines?

What are the 2 operating systems..

For the connection try these...

Please click Start > Run, type inetcpl.cpl in the runbox and press enter.
Click the Connections tab and click the LAN settings option.
Verify if "Use a proxy..." is checked, if so, UNcheck it and click OK/OK to exit.
Now check if the internet is working again.

OR

Go to Start ... Run and type in cmd
A dos Window will appear.
Type in the dos window: netsh winsock reset
Click on the enter key.

Reboot your system to complete the process.

If needed : type these one line at a time, press enter after each line. See if it works after each.

netsh interface ipv4 reset
netsh interface ipv6 reset
ipconfig /flushdns

WIN7.. Please Download this file, Click Me
Right-click on winsockfix.bat and click on Run as Administrator.

If that worked run these.. yf not run them from a CD or flash drive.

You also mat get internet like this....

Reboot into Safe Mode with Networking
How to enter safe mode(XP/Vista)
Using the F8 Method
Restart your computer.
When the machine first starts again it will generally list some equipment that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. At this point you should gently tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows XP Advanced Options menu.
Select the option for Safe Mode with Networking using the arrow keys.
Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode
.

Ok, I can not copy and paste or drop the report into note pad or anything else. This is directly from the main menu of TDSS, is there a different way to get the report? Also, yesterday I accidently ran the Minitoolbox program on my laptop that has internet access (although it redirect's me at times we can deal with that later) and after running the Minitoolbox I was not able to access anything except the internet. I had to do a restore in order to get to my files and stuff. Is this Minitoolbox going to render my bad laptop unusable because I can not do a system restore on it at all, I tried and it failed (this was before I asked for help on here)? At this time I am able to access file's and programs on it just not the internet. Thank you much.

Hello, today I got the moneyPak notice on my main laptop. I had to use safe mode to do a restore system. I ran Maleware and was able to delete 13 things found. It appears I have caught something bad as I am still being redirected to other sites sometime's and I still do not have internet access on the other laptop that we are trying to fix. Is there another way to copy and paste the TDSS report other then going through the main menu report option? Thank you for your help, this is really making me mad :-)

Hello, sorry I was sick for a day.. We should get a deeper look at this and find it all.

Please go here....Preparation Guide ,do steps 6-9.

Create a DDS log and post it in the new topic explained in step 9 which is here Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs and not in this topic, thanks.
If GMER won't run (it may not on a 64 bit system) skip it and move on.

Let me know if that went well.
