Follow the guide outlined here. Although it is not exactly the same, the ransomware is from the same family and will be detected by the software used in the guide.

Once you've successfully cleared out the infection, ensure to read the 12th step. It explains how you may have gotten this in the first place and how to prevent it in the future.

My husband had a similar infection to this on his computer. It deleted the SafeBoot key so I was unable to access Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking. I had to use OTLPE to get rid of the screen locker. But I don't see any of the experts using OTLPE in these forums. I assume this must be because of copyright reasons or something.

So I am going to follow this thread and see how the malware expert fixes this without using OTLPE.

I think I'm going to get an excellent learning experience here. :thumbup2:

Sorry, my bad. I was reading this at 1AM and must've missed that.

I've seen some of the malware experts use xPUD to try to diagnose or repair boot issues before.

Burning to CD is easier, in my opinion. Use a tool such as ImgBurn (it's free) because you must burn the .iso file as an Image.

Here is a step-by-step tutorial: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=61
