I have an HP 4530s laptop and it quit booting up all of a sudden. I'm not aware of anything done to cause this. When I attempt to boot up it seems to start but then goes to a screen that says no boot device found Please install an operating system on your hard disc Hard Disk-(3F0) Then if I press F2 System Diagnostics and F4 hard disk diagnostics it says test failed and no disk installed. Is there any way to fix this. My operating system is Windows 7 and the computer is 1 year old. Thanks for any help.

The first thing to do is to make sure that the hdd is properly seated. You can use this link to watch a video tutorial on removing the hdd.

There is a diagnostic for memory and the hdd in the BIOS. If I can find a tutorial for this I will post it.

check if your hard disk is working., this seems like that your hard disk is having a problem.

Hello zanyre,

Here are a series of steps that you can try (recommended by HP): Resolve Boot Device not Found Error Message.
  • Try steps #1- 4.

the computer is 1 year old

Call HP to see if it is still under warranty.

Regards,
Brooks
