unable to start in safe mode

I am unable to start in Safe mode, will only give Bios setup screen.

All started with black screen and floating "input not supported"

Please help

Just to clarify your computer's symptoms, if you try to boot normally, you get the black screen and unsupported input dialog, if you keep pressing F8 for Safe Mode, you get a BIOS setup screen, is that correct? If so, you're not accidentally pressing F9 are you? Some systems use F9 for a minimal BIOS setup or boot order selection screen.
