Hi im new to these forums, i just happened to stumble onto this site so i thought i mite try it to see if u guys can help me fix my pc. Anyways onto my problem. I installed MSE and right after it installed and running, it prompt me to restart my computer to get rid of a virus. After restarting my pc would continuously restart after getting a msg saying windows had encountered a critical problem and restart in 1min. This happens over n over again. I tried booting in all the safe modes to uninstall mse but it wont let me. I tried to do a system restore but i dont get enough time. Ive read other posts on this problem, and its seems to b that its conflicting with my other av programs. I run vista ultimate x32bit, and i hav avg 2012 n malwarebytes anti-malware installed.

Restart the PC

Press F8 on bootup

Select REPAIR YOUR COMPUTER

Click on REPAIR

On the System Recovery Options menu you will get the following options:

Startup Repair
System Restore
Windows Complete PC Restore
Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool
Command Prompt

Can you get to this screen?

If yes

Select System restore

If you have restore point before you installed microsoft security essentials restore it or if you have restore point before you were infected would be fine

Thx for the reply. I pressed f8 but could not find Repair Your Computer. The only other options apart from the three safemodes are:
Enable boot logging
Enable low resolution video
Last known configuration
Directory services restore mode
Debugging mode
Disable automatic restart on system failure
Disable driver signature enforcement

I thought id try last known configuration, directory services restore mode and the disable automatic restart on system failure, but i still get the 1min restart popup before i could do anything.

Insert it into the infected PC and follow my previous instructions

Omg i found my vista cd. I booted my pc with cdrom first using f12 on the restart. I saw the repair your computer option. i clicked it and asked me to choose my windows. After that it started to do a startup repair searching for problems. Then a popup appear asking if i wanted to do a system repair. I clicked yes. After awhile it restarted my pc. Now finally that mse is gone. Thx so much for ur help. I hav another problem with a virus that keeps redirecting my google searchs but i hav to make another post for that right?
