Hello:
I have a question about Windows Update for Windows XP Pro OS.
I have just finished reinstalling Win XP and am not able to access the Windows Update site so that I can update my computer. Has MS stopped supporting XP? If so, how do I find and install the updates. Is this possible? Helpful information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Hi,

No Microsoft didn't stop providing updates for Windows XP but you need to have Service Pack 3 installed to get updates.

To install Internet Explorer 8 on XP you need to have at least the XP Service Pack 2 installed.

Do you have only a initial Windows XP CD without any Service Pack?

System manufacturer and model?

What steps did you take to reinstall XP Pro?

Both SP2 and SP3 are available for download and installation from the system.
