I have 2 brand new Cisco Aironet 1140 AP's with the latest firmware. For some reason these 2 of 6 AP's will randomly time-out when browsing through the GUI and changing settings.

Whats the proper steps I should take on diagnosing this?

The setup tree is like this
AP's (warehouse) TO Switch (warehouse) TO Switch (network room); with cabling all inbetween.

I'm thinking either bad cable runs or some ports on the first switch are going bad? How often do ports go bad?

Thanks for the help!

Besides GUI configuration are you loosing network access as well? Is the GUI timing out After applying the settings or just browsing the status pages? Are there any errors listed in the event log?
