I am on a machine running windows xp, today I noticed my optical drives have stopped working. I have a dvd, a readable and a read write. They will play a music cd if I open windows media player but that is all. I think somewhere something must have gotten turned off. Have gone to the device manager and it says they are working correctly and the drivers are up to date, also tried trouble shooting with microsoft fixit for them with no luck.
Any help will be appreciated.
PS they are also all enabled, thought they may have gotten turned off.
do I have this right: you have three optical drives, they will play CD audio but nothing else, like data cd, data dvd, dvd movie, mp3 disk(cd or dvd), software, none of these.
And they all quit at the same time ?
