How do I get rid of "thumbs" and "database" icons?

I did something while trying to get rid of some spyware. I did it in safe mode or something. If I remember right, I enabled my OS (Win XP Home) to let me see programs that are usually hidden. So now I can see "ghost icons" like "thumbs" and "database", and I want to know how to make them hidden again.

Thank you

Open Windows Explorer, then click on Tools.
Choose Folder Options from the drop down menu.
Choose the View tab.
Look down the list for "hidden files and folders" under which is "do not show hidden files and folders" and check this.
At the top of the box, click on "Apply to all folders"
Click on "OK"

Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one should be silent.
