Need a STURDY brand as I have a young daughter and my poor laptop inevitably takes a beating periodically. Of course, speed is highly important (it will be nice not having to wait on my computer for once!) I have NO IDEA what requirements I should seek in order to obtain the quickest, dependable, unconstrained extension of myself. Will run computer (wirelessly) through television for movies and music.

My budget for the new computer is: +/- $3000 (flexible)

What are the primary uses for this computer (IE: mail, web browsing, programming, games, etc)? EVERYTHING. Video, photograph viewing and manipulation, gaming, email, radio usage as well as creation and manipulation of music, online college classes. If I happen across a new use for my computer, I do not want the stress of worrying if my system can handle it or not.

What software do you intend on using on the computer? Windows Office Suite and Adobe Photoshop -for starters

Do you play games? If so, what type of games? Mainly Facebook games, but get into more intensive gaming periodically

Do you tend to have a lot of programs running at the same time, or do you close every program when you are done using it? I always have several things running at once PLUS the ones I forgot to close...

Do you store a lot of pictures or music on the computer? YES and YES - need abundance of every kind of memory

I am aware that many many new gadgets are available for use with computers such as touch screen monitors and tablets using handwriting recognition. Any recommendations on any I can't live without? Thank you for your time and input, it is greatly appreciated!

With the budget of $3000, you can nearly get the top of the line laptops on the market like this which has a quad core i7, 750GB for storage space, 2 128GB SSD, the fastest single mobile gpu on the market and a huge 16GB of ram.
