Hi,

I scanned my new laptop today with Eset online scanner and found these threats, need help please. I am concerned about Quick Books since I have to use the application for our small business.

C:\Users\Tumbleson\Downloads\cnet_QuickBooksInvoiceMgrTrial2006_exe.exe a variant of Win32/InstallCore.D application
C:\Users\Tumbleson\Downloads\cnet_Setup_QuickBooksSimpleStartFree2010_exe.exe a variant of Win32/InstallCore.D application
C:\Users\Tumbleson\Downloads\the weather channel desktop setup.exe a variant of Win32/Soft32Downloader.B application

I'll check back tonight, my husband has to use the computer for business purposes until later.

Hi,

InstallCore is no Virus though. It's a installer platform used on many download sites. The reason why Eset detects this is because it's bundled with 3rd party applications which you don't need.
You can safely ignore these detections by Eset. When you install the software, please read through the install screens and uncheck any additional software it offers to install.

Or, you can download the software from the developers site instead of Cnet. These aren't bundled with the Installcore platform.
