Hope I am posting in the right section. I have a toshiba laptop with windows vista, and when I put a cd in and go to my computer to open it I am not able to. The same when trying to open USB's , only it does not even show up, only a C, D, and Z drive. This started after being infected with a virus. I followed the instructions here and downloaded malwarebytes anti-malware, quarantined the 8 things it found (Rogue.FakeHDD, PUM.Hijack.Start, Exploit.Drop.3P), dowloaded unhide to recover my files, background, etc... and everything was restored. Anyhow, now I can not open cd/dvd's or anything from usb's and I am not sure what to do.

You may have a rootkit

Launch it.Click on change parameters-Select TDLFS file system

Click on "Scan".Please post the LOG report(log file should be in your C drive)

Do not change the default options on scan results

Launch it, allow it to download latest Avast! virus definitions
Click the "Scan" button to start scan. After scan finishes, click on Save log

Post the log results here

ESET online scanner

Install it

Click on START,it should download the virus definitions
When scan gets completed, click on LIST of found threats

Export the list to desktop, copy the contents of the text file in your reply
