System: Dell XPS 17 with Windows 7

Problem: Whenever the overall brightness of the content of the window changes drastically (going from white to black for example), the brightness on the computer monitor changes to make the brightness levels equal (even though the content has changed). The way it changes is in small increments (Instead of gradually in-/decreasing, it steps up/down.) at a rate of twice per second. I have already disabled the adaptive brightness on the services.msc file. One of my friends thought it might be virus/malware-related, but I did a complete scan and fix (via BleepingComputer), which did not fix it. Also, I have updated all Dell drivers (not sure about third party ones), so that is not the issue. This has been happening for the past 2 months, and I've had the computer for nearly 1.5 years.

Any help would be appreciated!
