I have a home desktop computer with the following online protections. Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security, Webroot Spysweeper, Spybot S&D, Ad-aware, Yahoo Anti-spy, and A squared. I have the pc-cillin firewall (software) and a DSL 2-Wire modem firewall. My scheduled Spysweeper picked up a threat called Ultra View Plus, it says it is a monitoring program which secretly tracks all activities of a computer user. Has anyone heard of this? When I looked UV Plus up it says it is a software program available for $99. The review says it will not show up on your computer not even as a program. Since Spysweeper picked the threat up does that mean it is on the computer? Right now I have it in the Spysweepers' Quarantine. Any help or am I screwed? Thanks.

Ok, I ran these scans in this order(system restore off): Yahoo Anti-Spy, Spybot S&D, Ad-aware, Webroot Spysweeper, A2, and PC-cillin spyware and virus. Nothing showed up in any of the scans. The threat warning did not show up this time. I don't know if something is on the comp or if it didn't show up because it was quarantined originally. As stated above, the threat said: Ultraview Plus is a monitoring program which secretly tracks all activities of the compter. If anyone would please help find out what this is and help me I will appreciate it. I don't know if I'm being "robbed" of my programs. Should I leave the threat in quarantine and turn off the system restore then delete? Help please?

Has anyone heard of this program? It still hasn't come up again. I contacted Webroot and they said it was a "false positive". Does that make any sense? Thanks.

Hey socom 004 and welcome to bleepingcomputer,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Webroot have admitted this is a FP (False Positive). I googled the entries and found numerous topics on it. It's simply a harmless registry entry that is being flagged as dangerous - nothing to worry about there you can just ignore it. If the program was actually install it sounds like a commercial rootkit to me. Here is an example of a thread where other users have complained about the flasepositive:

Hope this helps,
David

Hey Trojanator...thanks for the response. That's a relief. I know I didn't manually install anything like that but I was concerned when it was detected. I have it in quarantine now. Thanks again.
