I have windows 7 home premium 64 bit os. I play world of warcraft online and i'm trying to get my FPS up a little bit. Now i know i don't have the best system, its 2 Gig RAM and a AMB Sempron 2.1 G. I was recently going into the advanced personal settings, then performance, and choosing to run at the best perfermance rather than let windows run how it thinks it should. I would then use Game Booster to start warcraft and play like that. It helped alot, raising my FPS by about 0 or 40. But while i was doing this i would tab out and surf the web for things i needed to know and i think this is how i got infected by a virus. So i know by switching to gaming mode that turns off my AV, just realized that, so i won't surf the internet like this anymore. But are the things i was doing there safe to do as long as i only play warcraft and do not surf the web, or are doing these things bad and what else if anything (besides by more ram) can i do?
