Hi,
I recently was in a bit of a purging mode with my computer (HP G62 Notebook PC)and I ended up using ComboFix without any guidance. :oopsign:

ComboFix deleted 2 files automatically - sdelevurl.txt and flashplayerinstaller.exe. After the scan it automatically restarted my computer and the internet failed to connect. I was planning on re-installing to factory through f11 at restart, but my factory recovery partition seems to be gone.

I hope someone can help me recover whatever it is that ComboFix removed or more likely what setting ComboFix enable/disabled to make my computer unable to connect to the wireless router.

I also do have another laptop that can connect to the internet and an external hardrive to be able to transfer whatever programs I may need to run.

Thanks,
flowstill

No. More like a paranoia that I may be infected. I just thought the program would scan and only do something if it picked something up. I didn't realize the potential negative effects at the time. Any advice?

The logs would be needed to be checked by a Malware Expert for an assurance that no other files were affected. I would ask a BC staff to move your thread to Am I Infected, just in case? Please be patient.

Do you have a previous restore point before running combofix?

Do not uninstall Combofix !

Do not uninstall COMBOFIX !!! that could remove the restore points.

I definitely already uninstalled ComboFix (correctly) right after the scan before I realized what had happened.

Is there anything I can do besides reinstall windows 7?

"Access is denied".

Right clicked cmd, ran as admin and got that response. I also switched users to Administrator, right clicked cmd and ran as admin with same results.

How is this possible? If I am the admin of this computer why am I being denied access?
