I'm not terribly picky about laptops and I'm just looking for something that will handle these basic features:
- able to do schoolwork
- not painfully slow
- surf the net and stream vids without lag
- less than $600

I am interested in this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-i15N-2548RED-15-Inch-Laptop/dp/B0081ZDZ30/ref=sr_1_31?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1347094566&sr=1-31&keywords=dell+inspiron

Dell inspiron i15n-2548 specs:
- 15.6" HD (720p) widescreen LED with Truelife™ and integrated Webcam
- Intel® Core™ i3-2370M (2.40GHz)
- Memory (RAM): 4GB DDR3
- Storage (hard drive): 500GB SATA (5400 RPM)
- Optical drive: 8x DVD+RW
- Video graphics: Integrated Intel® HD Graphics

Any other laptop suggestion is welcomed. Appreciate any help, thank you.

That laptop isn't bad, but for larger documents you will need an i5. Also Dells are know to be less durable than other computers, despite this I recommend Dells because they can be hundreds cheaper than other laptops with the same power. Also try to make your laptop on Dell's site rather than a pre-made one to save money on stuff you don't need (such as that 500gb hd, you should be good with a 320). If you go slightly over your budget you can get a good 15R that should last you awhile (as long as you don't drop it :thumbup2: ).

Good luck--Gilroy
