I've tried many variations of boot ups, even with clean-up discs in the dvd drive and I end up in windows startup with the Green Dot Moneypak screen preventing me from doing anything. I have XP sp3.

Does the FBI pop up come in safemode or safemode with networking?

Do you have another user account which doesnt have this pop up?

The pop-up happens in both. In safe mode I've have been able to log in as administrator and it is a blck screen. ctrl-alt-delete worked for the task manager. Under 'File' and 'new task' I did msconfig to 3 weeks ago, but when it rebooted, i logged in as my usual user and the pop-up was still there. I booted again in safe mode and ran cleanmgr and cleaned the c:/.

Do that again and type this in new task

explorer and click ok.Does that load your desktop?

When you say msconfig,do you mean a system restore?

Yes. I did a systems restore. I entered 'explorer' and a 'My Documents' window popped up. I've been using another window to see my desktop.

i did as instructed, but couldn't tell if there is a space after 'test'. I rebooted, but not in safe mode, and there is no new user. I will reboot again and try with the space after 'test' and also reboot in safe mode.

The tdsskiller still won't run. I had downloaded 2.8.8 on my laptop and burned it onto a cd last night and just now dragged it onto my desktop on my stationary computer. Should I download a fresh copy from the internet on the stationary computer?
