I am helping a freind and he is really infected with loads and loads of stuff and his browser is been hijacked by a URL named www.neccasaryupdates.com and he really need to clean this up. Thanks In advance!

Lets get started.

Please print these instructions out, or write them down, as you can't read them during the fix.

Please download smitRem.exe ©noahdfear, and save the file to your desktop.
Double-click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Anti-malware here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Please read Ewido Setup Instructions
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

Run Ewido:
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK
  • When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a check in the lower left corner of the box that says "Perform action on all infections" then choose clean and click OK.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop.
Close Ewido Anti-malware.

Now, reboot back into Normal mode, open the Report.txt file and copy & paste it's content to this thread along with a fresh HijackThis log aswell as the contents of smitfiles.txt log. :flowers:

Sorry Guys, We are having trouble convincing his older sister that these are trusted applications! Is there a way we can convince her? She only trust McAfee and Microsoft, So this might take awhile,

You might want to do an forum search for SmitRem and Ewido, show her how many times they have helped other people, that WILL convince her. Besides, if she trusts only McAfee & Microsoft, it will take a LONG walk to clean the PC up, as neither of those companies have a fix to offer. If you can't get her convinced.. Then she'll have an infected computer and that's it. :thumbsup:

Yeah tru, but she knows her computer is infected because her Homepage is HiJacked and lots of pop-ups but she thinks these applications will make it worse! I will try my best to get her look at the results, but I feel sorry for my friend because he can't do anything about it! Oh and the worst part = They do Online Banking!!! With all that malware inside theor computer and they do online banking!!!!!

It's too bad if you can't get her convinced -- if she won't run those apps, then the computer will continue to be infected. It's simple as that. Make her look at the results, it should be enough to convince her.. :thumbsup:

Nah, My firend installed a game and now he is on full lockdown, we might be able to do it when she is not home but the chances are highly odd.
