Hi.

Whenever I come to this site I see underlined words and when I hover the cursor over them.. the dreaded advertisement windows pop up.

I have scanned with my AV, Spybot S&D, Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware. Spybot found and removed a couple of PUPS.. SUPERAntiSpyware found and removed a couple of Adware tracking cookies. Scanned everything again, all has come back clean.. yet I'm still seeing the ads.. so I still have adware lurking somewhere on my PC.

I would really appreciate any suggestions or advice on what I could try next, as my head now hurts from banging it on a brick wall! Many thanks.

Hi.

Whenever I come to this site I see underlined words and when I hover the cursor over them.. the dreaded advertisement windows pop up.

Are you signed in to Bleeping Computer when you encounter this? If not, what you get is normal. This occurs only when not signed in.

BleepingComputer is paid for completely by advertisement revenue and the staff are all volunteers. What this means is that any support and advice you receive from this site is completely free. Sounds like a good deal, right? Let's make it sweeter then; as a registered user you will also no longer see any ads at all on this site!

Once signed in there will be nothing underlined. If this is happening after you sign in, follow the directions given by narenxp.

Thank you so much for your replies. I'm not seeing them when logged in. I didn't realise it was normal to see them when not logged in.

Sorry if I've wasted anyone's time.. it's put my mind at ease (for now.)

Thanks for all help. :)

No one's time was wasted. You had a concern and asked about it which is always a good thing to do if you are not sure about something.
