I read the instructions for posting advice in the Am I Infected forum. I think it's definitely a good idea to prohibit untrained members from giving instructions about manual rootkit removal using non-automated and advanced ARK tools. I am OK dealing with rootkits and bootkits if the computer is sitting in from of me and I have access to all my various tools and boot disks etc. But I would NOT be confident of telling someone how to fix this kind of thing over the Internet, without me being able to touch their keyboard. I wouldn't like to take the chance of me accidentally turning someone's PC into a doorstop.
I do have tools for fixing unbootable computers. But again, I have only ever used them when the computer is sitting in from of me, not remotely over the Internet, without me being able to touch the victim's keyboard.
I will follow that topic you replied to. It looks like quite an interesting case.
