I am trying to fix my friend's netbook. I was able to remove all infections BUT the star menu icons were missing. SO i ran unhide, and that brought back all of the icons and folders, BUT when i enter my starts menu and then highlite an option/folder it says empty. Everything is empty? I ran unhide again and it told me it cannot unhide my icons and that some main folder was missing? i have never got that message before? how do i fix this. this is the finale step! lol

Press Windows+R key and type

%temp% and click ok

If you have SMTMP then

Copy the contents of each folder to respective location

%Temp%\smtmp\1:

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu

%Temp%\smtmp\2\:

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<your login name here>\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\

%Temp%\smtmp\4\:

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop

good luck
