Hey guys:

That's what happened. I am running Windows 7 64-bit SP1. Now at bootup I get the error:

Windows cannot find 'regsrv32.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

I didn't type any name so I'm assuming I have to something, but, I'm not sure what??? It sounds like it wants me to type something. Not sure how to proceed.

Thanks

Hi,

Are you sure the error is about regsrv32.exe or regsvr32.exe?
Please confirm.

Also download Farbar Service Scanner
- Run the tool, on the Search box
- paste regsvr32.exe
- click Search Files button
- copy & paste the result to your reply

You are correct. It's regsvr32.exe. My bad!! I will download Farbar Service Scanner and use it now.

Edit:

I can copy the file, but the paste button is grey when I try to paste it into the Farbar Service Scanner. I tried to do a Search Files but that says, "No search term is entered. Please enter a search term and press "Search Files" button.

Well Sleepydude:

I installed the ThemesFix.reg and I did get the popup on the reboot. Everything seems normal for now, so I'll use the computer for a bit and post back if anything seems wrong. Thanks for all the help!!! I really appreciate it.

Also, thanks for chiming in narenxp.

If the popup continues please do this:
- run Autoruns again as Administrator
- open the Menu Options -> Filter Options... -> unckeck Hide Windows entries
- let the program scan again
- open the Logon tab and search the list for the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components section (you can use CTRL+F to search for the key)
- locate the Themes Setup inside the above section
- right click Themes Setup and select Jump to Entry...

Regedit will open and will locate the registry key for that entry...
- right click the selected key inside Regedit and select Copy Key Name option
- reply to this post and press CTLR+V to paste the key name

So the problem is solved?

I ask this because you wrote above:

I installed the ThemesFix.reg and I did get the popup on the reboot.

Open an elevated command prompt. Type the following in it, pressing Enter after each line.

sfc /scanfile=c:\windows\system32\regsvr32.exe
