Hi,

I seem to have a IE hijack problem. I had an unknown spyware removal tool download itself but has since been cleared by an updated Adaware. Also a coolwebsearch variant came up on that scan. Symantec detected 3 trojans and cleaned them. However I am still seeing IE redirects to some questionable spyware removal sites. Adaware is locking up in deep registry scans if I try to run it again, and it doesn't find anything in safe mode. I downloaded HijackThis v1.99.1 and I can post the log file if this tread is moved to the appropriate forum. The only things I can see that probably shouldn't be there are the Trusted Zone listings to some sites called crazywinnings.com and neededware.com. In my stupidity I didn't write down the viruses Symantec detected or log the first Adaware scan, sorry. Someone's help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Hi There

I have read your post and I think it would be wise for you to post a HijackThis log for an expert to review.

I recommend you follow the HijackThis preparation guide which can be found here. It is important that you follow the guide closely. A number of scans will be run which may well fix your problem.

As the guide says, after you have completed the scans that are recommended, please post your "HijackThis" log in a new topic in the forum found here. Please add your system infomation and also what problems you are having. Please be patient, and a HJT team member will help you to clean up your system

David
