Weird motherboard and or ram problem

i have got a gigabyte mobo (ga-78lmts2pt) with two ram slots..now when i put my Corsair XMS3 of 1600 fsb in one of them i am getting 1333,but if i put in on another slot then it is coming as 1600 after changing settings from the bios.any idea why this is happening?

Sounds like your motherboard could use a BIOS update. Check manufacturer website for the update file.
