12v power inverter with 6v batery

any one know if its safe on the power inverter to use a 6v battery with a 12v power inverter im trying to see if the battery still works and i dont want to blow my inverter up the battery is meant for a APC i be leave i had it being used in a power wheel . i know how can you blow a 12v dc/ac power inverter with a 6v battery im just a service person is all
