I have been having a problem when trying to run a certain application. The application is call of duty 4. I have never come across this issue because and I tried all common fixes and it was still doing it. This lead me to look into the event logs of windows for applications. I have recently reinstalled my computer using 64 bit windows but I have used the install disk before and I'v never experienced this issue.
From looking at the event logs in windows it's showing I'm getting a missing/corrupt dll file.
The error is:
Faulting application name: iw3mp.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4859a219 Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17651, time stamp: 0x4e211319 Exception code: 0x406d1388 Fault offset: 0x0000b9bc Faulting process id: 0x614 Faulting application start time: 0x01cd860494527ef0 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\iw3mp.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\syswow64\KERNELBASE.dll Report Id: d40b6430-f1f7-11e1-853b-00219727f5ba
I might just end up reinstalling but before I have to do that I would like some professional advice and see if it can be fixed without reinstalling. I have ran a registry cleaning tool called registry easy and it shows some errors on my computer, but in order for it to remove the errors I would have to pay for the program.
