Hi folks,

I'm having a few problems with Explorer 9 not displaying some webpages, such as the BBC iPlayer page (just a blank black page). Other pages display wrongly, such as Twitter and my own website. They work - but the text/graphics aren't quite where they should be. See attached pictures!

I am getting compatibility mode warnings a lot.

I thought it may be a virus/malware but, after spending time in that part of the forum with your excellent moderator Mole, we now know it's not.

Also, the webpages I refer to work fine in Chrome - but I prefer IE9.

Here are some examples of problem webpages:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/radio/bbc_radio_five_live/listenlive - radio works but the window is black.

http://www.santander.co.uk - images missing (see screenshot)

http://www.oasis.com/ - loads of the site won't download (see screenshot)

https://twitter.com/ - loads won't load (see screenshot). Also, it still works in Chrome but some of the avatars have gone missing as of today.

http://www.tastetheseasons.co.uk - images for Twitter, Facebook, etc missing from homepage. Plus text not starting in right place on news story pages.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Andy

Have you tried reinstalling flash player, video driver, resetting, reinstalling IE9, clearing your temp. files?

Hi Noknojon,

Oddly, the Santander page is now working fine. Still problems with the others though.

Thanks for your reply!

Try unchecking this on your IE9 : Internet Options - Advanced tab - Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering - Apply.

Download SecurityCheck.exe from Here

. Run SecurityCheck and follow the instruction from inside the code box.
. When the scan is finished, a notepad will automatically open as check.txt
Please copy and paste the contents here on your next reply.

ZoneAlarm Free Firewall Antivirus

Did Jhayz suggestion worked? If it doesnt work

Disable/uninstall ZoneAlarm Free Firewall (you already have AVG) and see if IE works.

Yes, please disable or remove Zone Alarm and use use Windows Firewall instead. If nothing works, disable or replace AVG with Microsoft Security Essentials and check on the difference.

Hi, apologies for the delay in replying. I tried uninstalling AVG and Zonealarm - both programs that have served me well for years I might add - and it didn't make the slightest bit of difference.

What did make a difference was reverting back to IE8. Everything worked perfectly then. So what's the problem with IE9?
