So I have an HP m8300f Media Center PC.

Operating System is: Windows Vista

I am getting a blue screen error periodically, nothing really triggers it....it happens randomly. The error is a STOP: 0x0000007F most of the time. I have ran MANY memory tests included Memtest and I have also ran Harddrive tests. They all seem to pass perfectly. From what I have seen the computer won't blue screen while in safe mode. I just reinstalled the operating system from scratch and it's still doing it. I am assuming it has to be hardware, but all the tests say PASS!

Thoughts!?

Please and Thank you :)

It just blue screened again and this time it's a different Blue Screen Error. Driver_IQRL_Not_Less_Or_Equal and the Stop Error is 0x000000D1. So now I have two blue screen errors.

Hope someone can help :-/

Let's try this.

Download/install BlueScreenView, http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html .

Double-click BlueScreenView.exe file.

When autoscan is done (screen comes up), click Edit/Select All...then File/Save Selected Items.

Save the report as BSOD.txt.

Open BSOD.txt, copy all content and paste it into your next reply.

You sure you have the correct drivers loaded? 32-bit Vista or 64-bit?

If you are not using the original drivers, you might try that, http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=2100&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3644702 .

Where did you get the drivers you installed on the clean install?

So I am reformatting again to insure that I did not install the wrong drivers. I will install from that site and get back to you. I am using 32 bit vista, but maybe I accidentally installed 64 bit.

Talk to you soon. Thanks Louis!

So I reformatted the computer. Followed the general setup and let it go to the desktop. I didn't touch it and it did end up blue screening. I printed off the log for you to analyze.

Here it is...

What steps are you taking to reinstall Windowz?

Step-by-step, please.

The blue screen you posted...is not particularly revealing in itself...but the fact that you get such on a clean install...indicates a problem with the install or with your hardware, IMO.

Put the Windows Vista disc into the drive. Booted from CD Drive and the install began. I than deleted the old partition so it's completely empty. I then installed windows vista and let windows updates run once the operating system loaded.

You are referring to the HP Vista disk...which either came with your system...or which you created per HP instructions when system was first acquired?

What hard drive tests did you run, please?

Did you install SP1 and SP2 via Windows Update?

Louis
