After fighting connection problems for several days I re-installed. During the loading of Windows XP the error message was the file NETwLx32.sys was needed. I downloaded a version and then got the error: "The file 'NETwLc32.dll on Intel wireless WiFi link install disk is needed."

Don't have the disk, and don't know where to get the file. Also, I admit, I don't know what's going on. I had assumed the original file was part of the driver for the Wireless and somehow was corrupted.

But, it's time for me to back off. I'm not making progress and sure would be happy if someone would be able to help solve this.

Thanks, and regards,

Tom C

System manufacturer and model?

From what website...did you download the file you installed?

For info only, http://systemexplorer.net/file-database/file/netwlx32-sys .

The laptop is an HP Compaq 6720s. Dual core Intel chip.

I don't recall the source of the file, but couldn't find anything on Intel or HP.

I searched some more on Intel and found a link to HP. From there I downloaded the driver and it seems to be working now. At least I am connected to the internet.

Thank you.

:thumbup2: , nice work :).

Since you have an HP system...you should always go to the HP support page for that system when looking for drivers.

There was a link to it on the Intel site and that's what I used. Computer is online and connecting with wireless quite nicely now.

Thanks for your response, it got me going in a productive direction.
