Hi guys and girls,

I'm not sure if this is the correct part of the forum for this to be posted so if it isn't I apologise.

Okay, down to business. I have recently installed a fresh version of Windows Vista 32bit on to an Acer Aspire 5315 but for some reason the wifi button no longer works

I've tried browsing for drivers but it says that the best driver is already installed (broadcom 590x 10/100 Ethernet). Under other devices it is showing an Ethernet Controller and an Unknown device and they both have a warning symbol next to them (see attached) BUty when I try updating the drivers it tells me that its unable to find them.

I'm not sure if I'm even on the right track so if there's anyone who knows how to help me out it would be greatly appreciated :thumbup2:

By any chance do you know what kind of router you have? B/G/N? Also have you tried searching for your router name manually? Finally, do you know the name of your wireless card? It might just be hidden. Also check on your system devices to see if the computer even knows if it's there or not.

Good luck--Gilroy

You don't have the wireless drivers loaded. So that explains it.

You can get to them here Aspire downloads

Wow, now that's what I call service!

In answer to your question Gilroy, the router I have is a SKY one and that works fine. Its the actual button on the laptop that doesnt seem to be activated, so I'm unable to turn the device on to actually get it to search for the wifi connection.

How would I search for the name of the wireless card? Sorry I'm totally living up to my forum name now! ha ha

Yeah, that acer thing would probbably work better than I could suggest. Otherwise go into your device manager and select system devices (near the bottom) and check to see if your wireless card is there. See if you can update the drivers from there and if it works.

Hope you get your Wireless Euohoria back :busy: --Gilroy
