Hi

O/S : Win XP Media Centre Edition Pro.

Problem : laptop won't shutdown unless I go start/shutdown twice. Everytime. This has been occurring since several weeks.
I've updated and scanned my spyware, malware and antivirus regularly. Any advice?

Is there a tutorial to repair XP by reinstalling?

Jach :)

Do you have disks reflecting your operating system?

Manufacturer and model of system?

Forgot to add the laptop was bought in 2006 and OS was updated with SP3.

There is another issue: sometimes shutdown hangs on the screen message 'saving your settings' and I have to press the power button to force switch off. (There are no problems with booting up tho.) That happens intermittently. I am just mentioning here since they are both to do with shutdown, but if the two probs are not related I will research existing topics or start another when this is resolved.

Many thanks.
