My budget for the new computer is: $700

What are the primary uses for this computer (IE: mail, web browsing, programming, games, etc)? Internet, email, legal research, word processing, maybe some light gaming

What software do you intend on using on the computer? Office

Do you play games? If so, what type of games? On this computer I would only play older games or casual games.

Do you tend to have a lot of programs running at the same time, or do you close every program when you are done using it? I close programs, but I always have a lot of internet tabs open.

Do you store a lot of pictures or music on the computer? No. My PC is my main storage unit.

I've never owned a laptop, and I'd just like a few suggestions. I've found that I need one for class and note-taking. I have a gaming rig, so I won't need to do any heavy gaming on it, but I may want to load a couple old games like Oblivion or Knights of the Old Republic. Graphics don't have to be pretty, just acceptable. I've found this one on TigerDirect - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2889186&Sku=A180-140300 - but I know Acer can be solid hit or massive miss. Any input or suggestions you may have will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Your better of with this laptop as Toshiba are far more reliable then Acer, it has a larger hard drive, larger screen and faster processor for just an extra $150.
