Good afternoon good people of BleepingComputer.com,
First of all, I'd like to just add that I'm not the only person that uses this computer. Anyway, yesterday, I noticed "PC Optimizer" pop-ups telling me to update. Now, I know that I never installed that and everyone who uses the computer denies installing it. Ever since I removed that Optimizer nothing works. For instance, if I'm trying to open anything from the desktop such as Firefox or Messenger it won't open. The Icon just dims out to indicate I pressed it but it never executes itself to actually open. The only way to open Firefox is to -right click- then hit -open-. Today, I was going to run an MBAM, I click to run it, as per usual it wants to update definitions, so I accept. Once it's in the final stages of installing the downloaded items, some of the items are getting error messages and aren't getting installed. At the very end, it just says something along the lines of MBAM being successfully uninstalled. So, I then decided it'd be a good idea to run Norton. It also failed to run. It does not want to scan anything it just stays frozen without scanning anything. Thanks in advance, OnlyZuul.

Broni, the rkill program did not work. I was unable to install mbam. This is one of many errors that occurred while trying to install mbam:
CoCreate Instance failed; code 0X80040154. Class not registered.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.
