Whenever I click on a Gmail link I get 2 blank pages opening along with the target window. I will end up with 2 windows that have About:Blank in the URL box and then another page with the actual link that I clicked to begin with. This happens every single time I click on a link within Gmail. If I right click and select open in new tab, it does just that, opens in new tab. No extra windows. It's getting kind of irritating. I suspect it is a coding issue with Gmail, but they of course could care less about an individual user and have no way that I know of to get any customer support.

I see you recently had some infections removed from your computer http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic464041.html Sometimes, infections can bork certain things. Try uninstalling and reinstalling IE9 and see if the problem persists.

Well, I uninstalled IE9 per Microsoft but when I went to reinstall I get an error message that IE9 failed to finish the install. Now I am using IE8.
