Hi! A few days ago I had a problem with a trojan horse on my computer, which I fixed by downloading Avast! Anti-Virus software. However, when it tried to install google chrome, it froze, and so I had to reboot my computer. Ever since then I have not been able to access google. I tried installing google chrome, updating Java, checking for viruses, etc.

I'm not 100% comfortable with downloading things on to my computer, simply because I have had viruses before that possibly have come from downloads. Any help will of course be appreciated, but non-downloading fixes would be what I would prefer to try first.

Thank you!

Do you mean you cannot access google site/search engine or cannot install goggle chrome?
Please read this link http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic398507.html and follow the instructions and include List Installed Programs. You can use another computer to download the tool and copy/paste the result using a usb flash drive if you wish.
