Go to control panel > system and click on the hardware profile tab.
Click on the copy button, naming the copy whatever you wish.
Now you will have two hardware profiles, Original configuration and xxx.
Click on the device manager button, highlight the SB emulation (Sounds), and click on
the "remove " button.
You will be prompted as to which configuration do you wish it to be removed.
Select the original configuration.
You will be asked if you want to reboot, select No.
Remove anything else you wish to remove. ( You can remove just about
anything that you wish)
When you are done removing items, return to the hardware profiles, delete
the configuration you created.
Reboot.
If at any time you wish to replace items that you removed, simply run the
hardware wizard, you will then see a list of items that you removed. Select
you ones you wish to replace and click OK.
