HP Mini 110-1100
Bios: F.18
System Board ID: 308F
CPU: N270 @ 1.60 GHz
OS: Windows XP Home Edition (NOTE: Not the Low Cost version that had originally came on it)

Good Morning...UGH!!! Mondays...

I received assistance when I had to wipe the HDD on this little thing they call a laptop (the things you do for your friends). However, I have tried to find this chipset to install the rest of the drivers for the internal hardware. Unfortantely, the laptop will not let me install individual drivers for HP Webcam 50, Ethernet, and other internal hardware components. I was able to get a wireless driver installed but it seems to be generic. I did do some research on the Intel Atom Processor N270. I did find on Intel's website a chipset and I am not sure if it is the right one or even how to download it as I seem to not see a spot to click.

This is what I found...

EDIT: Attached the picture of what I found

Am I on the right track?

Best regards,

Nikki

Hi Nikki,

What you are seeing is a diagram of the chip and how it divides it resources.

I have found http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=4004509&taskId=135 but we need the exact model number

Once you have that information Select Microsoft Windows XP an download the chipset drivers under Motherboard or main board. download and install it.

If you need help please let us know

One more thing coxchris,

I don't know how to find extension of the HP Mini... CTO, EJ, or SL. Is there somewhere where I can find this information?

Louis

Thank you Louis. I think HP should deactivate their old site or re-direct them to the new one.

Nikki: These are your chipset drivers http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-75358-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=228&product=4004511&sw_lang= downloadf them and install them by the setup.exe

Good Evening...

I have tried and tried to get this ICH 7 to install but it tells me that

c:\swsetup\SP44796\Setup.exe had an error executing the specified program

I can't connect to the Internet to download it straight from HP because "Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network dlink" and I get that message when I connect to any network. I can not hard wire the laptop because the ethernet driver has not been installed. Can't get the driver installed because I can't seem to get the ICH installed. Whew...there is a lot of can'ts in this and it is becoming quite frustrating.

Although I have another brainiac question...does the ICH 7 cover all the drivers needed for this internal hardware?

Ethernet Controller
Hp Webcam-50
PCI Device
USB Controller
Unknown Device
Video Controller
Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

All other controllers and devices are up-to-date

Thank you so much and best regards,

Nikki (not so rockstar right now) :)

UPDATE: After my bestfriend GOOGLE...I found out why I was having network problems and what to do to correct it so I am now going to try and download ICH 7 directly from HP and see how this goes.

You can download that file on another computer and than transfer it to the trouble computer by USB flash drive.

Yes that is your motherboard chip set drive it should contains all of the above. If not Install it first and than we could determine what drivers didn't installed from that package.
