Dear Bleeping Computer,

After browsing for porn, a browser pop-up opened, followed by a command line process and it turned my entire screen white.
I can press CTRL+ALT+DEL, but the task manager is hidden behind the whiteness.
Creeped out as I was, I pressed the reset button to restart my PC, but after logging in to my computer, the command line opened itself again. This time, turning on my webcam, that's when I decided it was enough. I don't want to be a webcam porn star.

I restarted my computer into safe mode with command line, typed 'explorer.exe' to startup the windows interface,
I checked my msconfig, services.msc and 'Startup' folder, but there were no strange applications.
I tried installing Avira Anti-vir, but it wouldn't let me in safe mode.
I made a hijackthis log, trying to find strance processes, but I didn't see any.
This person suggested to run 'sfc /scannow', which did not seem to help.

I tried googling, but these days the web is filled with crap like fixya, advertisements and other useless intelligent lifeforms.
As I'm unable to find which process causes my virus, I can't find any good information on my problem.

Please provide assistance and forgive me for doing what I wasn't supposed to do.
If I need to provide anything else, please let me know.

Sincerely,
DigibeetMagneet

Providing a few more details:
OS: Windows 7
Browser: Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421
Virus protection: Windows Firewall (That's all.)
UAC: 'Notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer (do not dim my desktop)' (Which never happened.)

I resolved it myself.

It was possible to 'turn-off' Windows after the white screen and pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL, which caused the process to be terminated. Quickly pressing ESQ, to cancel shutting down Windows got me back in to Windows.
I installed Avira-Antivir, which found two .exe files like 'GimpInstaller.exe' and 'PDFUpdater.exe' in my 'My Downloads' directory. I hate gimp and pdf software, so I could never have downloaded them. I removed those, as well as using CCleaner to delete my entire temporary files, caches, etc.
Restarted and it works again.

Digibeet,

I was surfing porn on my company laptop and all of a sudden my webcam turned on and I saw a picture of myself. I turned off the laptop by taking out its battery. My question is were you surfing elephanttube.com (or one of the sub websites that it feeds from?) that caused the webcam to turn on or was it the corporate spyware that's loaded on my computer. I'm fearing the worst - it being corporate software that tagged me even though I was at home!

Please advise.

Best,

Sboy
