Please zip up the minidump and attach to your reply so I can have a closer look:
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump <<< folder
The minidumps will be found inside this folder.
  • Right-click on the most recent minidump file > Send to ... > Compressed (zipped) Folder.
The zip file will be located in the same place (the Minidump folder).
  • Attach the zip file to your next reply.
When you click on Add Reply, you will see the facility to attach a file just below the box where you type your message.

I think we are most likely looking for a device driver problem. You had the system running for 17 days before it crashed, so let's see if we can pinpoint the problem with a VERIFIER_ENABLED crash.

Run Driver Verifier following the instructions DRIVER VERIFIER - Windows 7 & Vista ... by jcgriff2
  • Notes:
  • Do not omit the first step, to create a System Restore point before enabling Driver Verifier.
  • Read the instructions on how to check the Driver Verifier Status.
  • Read the instructions on how To Turn Driver Verifier OFF when you have finished with it.
  • Read the instructions (and record them on paper so you have them if needed) about what to do IF you cannot start the system normally after it crashes under Driver Verifier.
  • Run Driver Verifier for 36 hours unless the system crashes. It doesn't matter whether you are using the computer or not during that time.
If your system BSOD’s under the Driver Verifier:
  • Locate the minidump file:
    • C:\Windows\Minidump <<< folder
  • Zip up the most recent minidump file:
    • Right-click on the most recent minidump file > Send to ... > Compressed (zipped) Folder.
    • The zip file will be located in the same place
  • Attach the zip file to your next post in this thread.
    • When you click on Add Reply, you will see the facility to attach a file just below the box where you type your message

Yes, had a stupid moment and the instructions weren't showing up because of noscript but all is good now. Will post back when I get a bluescreen.

Good! :thumbup2:

These are the most likely drivers to be causing a problem, with the 2006 dated one being top of the list of suspects:

Afc.sys Wed Jul 12 15:48:20 2006 ... Arcsoft® ASPI Shell (CD/DVD program) ... http://www.arcsoft.com/public/download.asp

LGBusEnum.sys Tue Nov 24 12:36:48 2009 ... Logitech Keyboard ... http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support-downloads/downloads
LGVirHid.sys Tue Nov 24 12:36:48 2009 ... Logitech Gamepanel Virtual HID Device Driver
LHidFilt.Sys Sat Apr 30 21:51:39 2011 ... Logitech SetPoint HID Filter Driver ... http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/support_downloads/downloads/&cl=us,en
LMouFilt.Sys Sat Apr 30 21:51:45 2011 ... Logitech SetPoint HID Filter Driver
LUsbFilt.Sys Sat Apr 30 21:51:49 2011 ... Logitech SetPoint USB Filter

mbam.sys Wed Mar 21 03:04:48 2012

netr28x.sys Fri Jun 19 17:56:06 2009 ... Ralink RT2860 series Wireless LAN Card (you may have a different manufacturer)

Edited to add: I've seen a VERIFIER_ENABLED crash after running a system for 56 hours ... so there is no guarantee that the problem will be picked up within the suggested 36 hours.

That might be the driver for the VHS to DVD converter thing that I tried to install and it failed. Never did get it to work. That was back in March though. Long time to sit and just now get a bluescreen.

Don't think it is my CD thingy as that is this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151235

No, it has nothing to do with the actual CD/DVD-ROM optical drive itself.

Arcsoft is digital video/image editing software. Somehow or other, you have installed an old version with a 2006 driver, from somewhere?

I installed this back in March but I had uninstalled it. http://www.ionaudio.com/products/details/vcr-2-pc

I don't recall downloading anything else like that.

Get me a couple more bits of info please.

:step1: Please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy, and post a link to it in this thread.
  • It is a convenient and accurate way of providing us with details of your computer specifications.

:step2: Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.
  • Checkmark the following checkboxes:
    • List Installed Programs
  • Click Go.
When the scan is finished, a text file will open in a Notepad window.
  • Copy the entire contents of the Notepad window, and paste in your reply.
(Result.txt will be saved in the same directory the tool is run.)
Edited to add: If you are interested in running WinDbg yourself on the crash dump (or others in the future), I usually copy/paste the following string of commands into the kd> box to give me the info that I am after:

!analyze -v;r;k;lmtn;lmtsmn;.bugcheck;!peb;!sysinfo cpuinfo;!sysinfo machineid; !sysinfo cpuspeed; !sysinfo smbios

There is nothing in the Installed Programs list that I can connect to Arcsoft.

However, from the Speccy report:
Services
Stopped: ArcSoft Connect Daemon
Re: ArcSoft Connect Daemon ... See http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/ACService.exe-25612.html
  • This is further evidence that Arcsoft software is or was installed on the system.
