My laptop (running Windows XP) has suddenly become slow in the last 10 days. I have not installed any new programs on my laptop recently.
The problem usually increases when I run a browser (Firefox). Booting in the safe mode or safe mode with networking is also not working well. I usually get the blue screen when I try to do so. I imagine the problem could be due to spyware/virus/ trojans. I have run Malware megabytes and Anvi Smart Defender 1.5 (free version) but nothing seems to have improved.
I will be grateful for any help.

Slow Computer-browser Check Here First; It May Not Be Malware - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic87058.html

To eliminate the suspicion of malware...I am moving topic to the Am I Infected forum.
