In the last three weeks, whenever I open Word or PowerPoint I get a pop-up with "Your control key is down. Do you want to open Word/PowerPoint in safe mode." Both programs act squirrely--Select in Word automatically selects the whole paragraph, for example. In my email program, Eudora, when I move to a new message, it keeps the previous message open.

Think Pad Edge, 8 MB, AMD dual core processor, Windows 7. The keyboard has been replaced and the computer fully checked out by a tech, with no joy. Has anyone seen this before, and if so, what can be done about it, short of buying a new laptop.

Thanks in advance,
