I'm a frequent user of this site, though this is the first time to register.
One of my friends(?) recently sent me a rootkit and other gifts, so I figure this is a good time to upgrade to Windows 7 ultimate. After eliminating all illnesses, of course. And backup what I can from my hard drive.

I've been using computers since early 1980's. Anyone remember CP/M or the Tandy?

Hello Dana and :welcome: to Bleeping Computer.

Since you mention a rootkit you might want to go here and read this:
Preparation Guide For Use Before Using Malware Removal Tools and Requesting Help

Personal opinion of course. But Windows 7 Ultimate is an expensive overkill as far as I'm concerned.

Who didn't use CP/M or a Tandy Radio Shack (TRS)?

Hi Dana Bell! :) We're glad to have you. I'm too young to remember those computers. My first computer was Windows 95, but I've been hooked ever since.
