I have Windows Me and Word 2000. Every time I click on the Word icon, my computer freezes up.I have done Sysstem Restore to no avail, and I have uninstalled Word 2000 and reinstalled it three times and still can't access Word. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Has this just started happening? Does it freeze up before Word launches, and everytime?
How much RAM do you have?

John

Welcome to BC. You could always try Open Office as a subsitute. It is compatible with ALL MS Office applications and verisons. You can create and modify Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
Just an option.

Re: Word 2000 freezing up.

My memory is 13332 MB free space.

Mim set at 0. If I set the memory myself, how do I do it and what do I set it at?

My question was more about how much RAM you have, not how much free disk space is available or how the swap file is set up (in regards to the latter, it is probably best to check the box, let Windows manage......). Could you try to open Word in "safe mode" and see what happens?
Thanks
John
