Hi brunsk and welcome to BC!

The more infomation that you can give the better we will be able to assist you. Have you got any anti-virus software installed on your computer - if so please update the program and run it, preferably in safe mode. Then please take a read of jgweed's excellent tutorial on troubleshooting a slow computer. You can read it here:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/44690/slow-computer/

Then please post back if you were able to solve the problem or not - give me as much infomation as possible please! Appreciate it is quite hard to help you in depth which no specific leads on the problem

David

Also include whether you are using dial-up, Cable, or DSL to connect to the internet.
Thanks,

No I don't have any anti - virus on my computer, I thought I did but I don't. I had a tech here from my local internet provider and he is the one who help me set this up, so I hope this is okay.He is the one who thought I had a virus or was hijakced. All I know is that when I go into my explorer it takes up to a minute to down load my home page. All I get is the hour glass. Then if I go to another one, same thing. I am using cable. and I only have this one computer. It's not really my computer running slow (other programs run fine) is just the internet. Hope this helps.
Thanks Kelly

Try the free online virus / spyware scanners. See this topic. I would run as many as you can since none of them are 100% effective at detecting.
